As a long-time Marvel fan with memories of waiting eagerly for each new addition to the universe, I can hardly contain my excitement as I watch the leaked teaser trailer for Ironheart! Having followed Riri Williams since her debut back in 2016 and eagerly anticipating any news regarding her own series, this sneak peek is a dream come true.
Back in July 2018, I was thrilled about the script for a movie featuring Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, penned by Jada Rodriguez and landed on The Black List. Unfortunately, that project didn’t make it off the ground. But here’s some fantastic news! Three years after her debut in 2018, Marvel Studios announced in December 2020 that they were developing a Disney+ series for Ironheart. Now, I can hardly contain my excitement as we gear up for the show’s premiere in 2025!

The story opens showing a part of the movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, introducing Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart. Later, we follow Riri’s struggles after her overseas internship leaves her feeling trapped. Before being kicked out of MIT, Riri voiced her ambition to create something remarkable. Subsequently, she encounters Parker Robbins, better known as The Hood (portrayed by Anthony Ramos), who proposes that greatness sometimes necessitates choices with moral gray areas. He queries whether Riri is prepared to take sides.
In the trailer, Riri can be seen in full swing, soaring through the air in her Ironheart armor, accompanied by shots of cash raining down and brief glimpses of the perils she encounters while chasing her aspirations. The video ends with a climactic scene where she collides with a truck, causing it to go airborne, and a fleeting peek at another variant of her suit in white, suggesting there’s more excitement to come.
In this upcoming production, Dominique Thorne takes center stage as Riri Williams/Ironheart, a multi-talented MIT student and prolific inventor who builds a suit matching Iron Man’s capabilities. Anthony Ramos shares the limelight as Parker Robbins/The Hood, a layered character delving into dark sorcery and mystic arts. The ensemble also includes Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, Lyric Ross as Riri’s close friend Natalie, and Anji White portraying her mother. Notable figures such as Shea Couleé, Jim Rash (returning to his MIT Dean role), and Sacha Baron Cohen have been cast in unspecified roles.
