Sad Socket’s 9 Kings is now complete! The latest update adds The King of Time as the ninth and final playable character to this roguelite deck-building, auto-battler game, fulfilling the game’s original promise.
Meet the King of Time, a sophisticated character with a walking stick and top hat who brings a unique twist to the game: time travel! He lets you rewind a few years during your runs, and his gameplay is all about finding the perfect moment to act. Some of his cards reward fast-paced strategies, while others encourage a more deliberate approach. Careful planning and keeping track of time are key to mastering this character.
The new King of Time update includes adjustments to game balance, plus several improvements to make the game more enjoyable. One of these improvements is a new Rainbow Perk that lets you prevent certain rulers from appearing during a playthrough.
Sad Socket has hit a big achievement for its Early Access release of 9 Kings – they’ve successfully included the planned number of rulers in the game! Publisher Hooded Horse says they aren’t stopping there, and future updates will add new game modes and content as they work towards the full Version 1.0 release.
9 Kings is available via Steam and PC Game Pass.
