A surprise mystery show appeared on the official New York Fashion Week schedule for Tuesday, September 16th at 8 p.m., sparking a lot of speculation about who would close out the week. It turned out to be Laquan Smith, who delivered a perfect finale to the season.
Smith made a strong comeback this season after taking last season off. They presented a noteworthy collection, attracting a vibrant group of New York City’s top talents to the Classic Car Club on Manhattan’s Hudson River Piers.
The event showcased a stunning collection of cars, from sporty new models to timeless classics. Guests enjoyed champagne and caviar on an outdoor terrace, while the front row was filled with major music stars like Latto, Mariah The Scientist, Ice Spice, Busta Rhymes, and Ty Dolla $ign, who excitedly shared that he created the show’s music.
Notable attendees seated in the front row included Wendy Williams, who made a rare public appearance, along with Ice-T and Coco, and Lil’ Kim with Sukihana.
Smith’s latest womenswear collection stayed true to the brand’s signature style. The show opened with a completely sheer outfit and a cowboy hat, immediately setting an energetic tone. The collection featured a variety of beautifully tailored pieces with interesting textures – flowing fabrics like chiffon and organza were combined with structured leather and large fur bags.
