For the 2026 model year, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has refreshed its Defender series, enhancing the design and technology across the 90, 110, 130, and OCTA models to make them more unique and equipped for adventure than ever before.
For the entire 2026 Defender lineup, there are refinements such as updated finishes and additions of new features. The changes include redesigned headlights and fog lights, smoked lens treatment on the rear lights that sit flush, and what JLR calls “signature detailing” throughout. Enhancements to the exterior of these vehicles also include improved surfaces on the front and rear bumpers, as well as a new textured pattern on the bonnet inserts and side vents which are said to give the vehicles a robust and adventurous appearance. All 2026 models will feature standard Defender-branded wheel caps in “Gloss Black” along with a matching grille-bar, as part of their design.
The color schemes throughout Defender’s series have received an update, with JLR introducing two fresh colors: “Woolstone Green” and “Borasco Grey.” These colors harmonize well not only with the existing collection but also with the overall design changes that Land Rover has made. Customers can opt to paint these new shades on the primary exterior of their preferred vehicle, or they can save them for accentuation purposes instead.
Within the vehicle, you’ll find an upgraded touchscreen now measuring 13.1 inches and a thoughtfully adjusted dash-mounted gear shifter. Although the modifications are somewhat subtle, the company asserts that their new display offers “even more user-friendly control for infotainment” and suggests that their latest centre console design allows customers to fully maximize the available space.
For the first time in 2026, the Defender model comes equipped with Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control as an optional feature. This technology allows the driver to set a preferred comfort level while navigating off-road terrain, freeing them to concentrate solely on steering. The system automatically adjusts speed to maintain the selected comfort level over uneven surfaces. Additionally, Land Rover has introduced a Driver Attention Monitor, which uses a camera facing the driver to monitor attention and provides visual and auditory alerts to ensure focus on the road ahead. This feature can be customized based on user preference.
For the Defender 130 model, there’s an available integrated air compressor as an extra feature, perfect for convenient tire pressure adjustments during outdoor adventures. Meanwhile, the Defender OCTA receives a fresh “Textured Graphite” exterior finish, enhancing its already rugged look. Furthermore, the OCTA comes with the choice of “Chopped Carbon Fibre” accents both inside and out, along with various other customizable options to elevate and personalize your appearance.
