Lana Condor is currently savoring married bliss following her wedding to Anthony De La Torre last October. The actress from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before has recently graced the 33rd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Party in West Hollywood, where she opened up about her marital experiences.
Condor expressed during an interview with Entertainment Tonight that marriage has been “challenging yet the best” for her. She explained, “It’s been the best – we’ve been together nearly 10 years. It can be tough, but it is the best. I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else or build a life with anyone other than him.
The actress disclosed that she officially incorporated “De La Torre” into her surname. Essentially, she retained her last name while also adopting his. In her own words, “I kept my name, but I added his too.” Yet, she confessed that navigating through the legal documentation was a tough task.
She made a jest by saying, ‘Who would willingly visit the DMV?’ She continued, ‘People often say that weddings are chaotic and forgettable, but no one warns about the intricate legal aspects involved.’
In a private wedding, Condor and De La Torre exchanged vows at the Serra Retreat Centre in Malibu, with their nearest and dearest present. Their engagement dated back to January 2022, and they finally got married in October 2024.
Lana Condor also revealed an essential guideline they follow in their marriage, one that fosters their bond even more. “We strive not to retire for the night while still harboring anger towards each other,” she explained to People. “This might sound easier said than done, but it truly does make a significant impact.
Regardless of their close connection, this duo often finds themselves at odds when it comes to choosing a movie to watch. Condor mentioned that although they share numerous similarities, their preferences for cinema aren’t always on the same page. She leans towards suspenseful films such as thrillers and slasher movies, while De La Torre tends to gravitate towards lighter-hearted productions like Paddington the Bear.
In her career, Condor has lately featured in the action-thriller titled “Valiant One”. Additionally, she has some forthcoming ventures lined up such as “Ballerina Overdrive” and “Worth the Wait”.
