As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement as the live-action adaption of “Afro’s mono” four-panel manga has finally unveiled its first full promotional video! Alongside this exhilarating sneak peek into the anime’s visuals, they’ve also revealed the ending theme song – ‘Weekend Roll’ by halca. And to make things even more enticing, they’ve shared some fresh details about the new staff working on this production. I can hardly wait for the weekend to roll around so I can immerse myself in this anime adventure!
The latest additions to our anime team have been unveiled, featuring Naoya Morotomi in an assistant director role and a skilled group taking charge of diverse positions such as art design, coloring, CGI, and sound. Hajime Hyakkoku is responsible for the music composition, with Norikiyo Fujita serving as the animation producer. Aniplex joins us as the main producer in this project.
On March 29, a special preview of the debut episode is scheduled in Kofu City, where the anime takes place, and another one will be held on April 5 in Tokyo. The official premiere of the anime is set for April.
In this production, we have Haruna Mikawa portraying Satsuki Amamiya, Aoi Koga as An Kiriyama, and Hikaru Tohno stepping into the role of Sakurako Shikishima. Notable voices also include Reina Ueda and Maki Kawase. The director, Ryota Aikei, who previously worked on “Jujutsu Kaisen”, is at the helm here at Soigne. The script was penned by Yoko Yonaiyama, recognized for her work on “A Sign of Affection”.
The manga titled “Afro,” released in March 2017, focuses on a group of high school students belonging to a unique club that merges cinema and photography, often referred to as a “cinephoto” club. The fourth installment of this manga was made available for readers in April 2024.
Apart from being recognized for his work, Afro is also celebrated for developing “Laid-Back Camp“. This show made its anime debut in 2018, and since then, it has produced several seasons and a movie. There are plans underway for a fourth season of “Laid-Back Camp”.
