LA Wildfire Destroys Mandy Moore’s Beloved Altadena Neighborhood; Actress Shares She’s ‘Absolutely Numb’

Mandy Moore expresses her sorrow over the destruction of her Altadena community due to the persistent Los Angeles wildfire. On Wednesday, January 8th, the actress from This Is Us, aged 40, posted an update on Instagram, explaining how her neighborhood has been significantly impacted by this natural calamity.

This is Altadena, now flattened. My cherished home. I am heartbroken and shattered for those who’ve suffered immense loss. I can hardly find words, I’m left speechless,” she penned, accompanying a video of charred buildings in the northeastern part of Los Angeles that she drove past.

It wasn’t immediately certain if Moore’s own residence was impacted, however, it is clear that her local community was indeed affected!

After her first post about Stories, she shared another one, thanking her family for their safety and detailing the damage she saw around her.

She wrote, “I’m thankful that my family and pets made it out safely last night before it got worse, and I can’t express enough gratitude towards friends who provided us with a place to stay, clothes, and blankets. However, I’m in shock, almost numb, seeing so much loss, especially among my own family.

Moore went on saying, “My kids’ school no longer exists. Our cherished restaurant was destroyed. Far too many friends and family members have suffered similar losses. Our community feels shattered, yet we stand united in our efforts to rebuild. Sending heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected, as well as those tirelessly working to bring this situation under control.

Previously, Moore had posted on Instagram Stories that she and her family had evacuated and were uncertain if their home was still standing. The actress resides with her spouse, Taylor Goldsmith (aged 39), and their children – August ‘Gus’ Harrison (age 3), Oscar ‘Ozzie’ Bennett (age 2), and three-month-old Loise Everett.

Recently, Moore finished a six-year long refurbishment of their home. This actress frequently showcased her enthusiasm for interior design and updates about her project on various social media platforms. In February 2023, she announced that the renovation of her home was almost done, with just minor details left to finalize.
