After confirming Chisa’s appearance in the Wuthering Waves 2.8 update, Kuro Games announced that Buling will also be playable. Similar to Galbrena, Buling is a consultant for Black Shores, but instead of destroying enemies with powerful attacks, she’s skilled in exorcism and fortune-telling.
Buling, a consultant for Black Shores and nicknamed the “Spiritchaser Taoist,” travels extensively to explore and share unusual and mysterious phenomena. She’s highly skilled in fortune-telling, feng shui, and other methods of divination. She funds her travels by selling talismans and offering guidance to people who seek it.
We learned more about Buling’s powers: she can hear sounds others can’t, and is incredibly sensitive to vibrations. She focuses by removing her headphones, holding her breath, and quietly humming while tapping her thumb. This triggers a response from the environment – thunder, lightning, and the banishment of evil forces.
Buling, in a world marked by loss and change (the ‘Post-Lament Anthropocene’), possesses a unique ability called Resonance. This allows her to hear sounds others can’t, and to deeply feel the subtle vibrations around her. The scene opens with Buling removing her headphones, pausing to listen intently.

The next major update for Wuthering Waves, version 2.8, is planned for release later this year. This will be the last update before WuWa 3.0 arrives, bringing a brand new area to explore and starting a new part of the game’s story.
