After taking a ten-year hiatus, Kumail Nanjiani is making a return to stand-up comedy. His upcoming special on Hulu marks his first performance since the release of “Beta Male” in 2013. As of now, the title and premiere date for this new project are still under wraps.

This special is created jointly by ITV America and The Year of Elan, with Kumail Nanjiani, Elan Gale, and Bernie Schaeffer in the role of executive producers.

Nanjiani is recognized for his versatile work across comedy and cinema. He was featured in the TV show “Silicon Valley” and collaborated with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, to pen the screenplay for “The Big Sick,” a film inspired by their true-life romance.

Apart from his career, he’s also been a part of notable franchise productions such as Marvel’s “The Eternals”, “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, and “Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire”. Notably, he has received both Oscar and Emmy nominations for his contributions.

His latest stand-up performance is included in Hulu’s comedy series called Hularious, alongside humorists like Bill Burr, Ilana Glazer, and Sebastian Maniscalco. Moreover, the streaming service is broadening its comedy selection by adding fresh specials and classic stand-up acts to its collection.
