As I, a dedicated movie critic, eagerly anticipate, Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” now under development exclusively for Disney+. Having thoroughly enjoyed the first season, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of seeing Jessica Jones back within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On Tuesday, during the Disney advertisers’ presentation, it was revealed that Marvel had a significant announcement. Charlie Cox and Ritter were both present on stage.
Absolutely, Krysten Ritter played the lead role in Marvel’s Jessica Jones on Netflix and was also part of The Defenders. Unfortunately, the first season of Daredevil: Born Again has been receiving poor ratings, among the lowest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ll have to wait and see if Krysten Ritter’s involvement will improve things.
Excitedly, I’ve heard whispers that our favorite Netflix Marvel characters could make a comeback – Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). Given the climax of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, where Matt Murdock finds himself in a tough spot against the Kingpin and his forces, I’m hoping these heroes lend a hand. And speaking of returning heroes, Jon Bernthal reappeared as the Punisher – a welcome sight indeed!
Season 2 to be big improvement
In the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” the story resumes following the suspenseful ending of the first season, where Wilson Fisk gained power through force. With Fisk tightening his grip on law enforcement and targeting vigilantes, Matt Murdock finds himself operating covertly, mobilizing allies to counterattack. Notably, it is now disclosed that Jessica Jones is among these allies.
Previously mentioned, Marvel is indeed revamping their television sector, and this transformation is evident in the upcoming second season of “Daredevil: Born Again”. Notably, Charlie Cox himself has expressed that the second season promises to surpass the quality of its predecessor.
I don’t want to exaggerate, but I genuinely believe that this writing for our show is among the finest we’ve produced so far. Of course, everyone tends to say that about their own work. Recently, I messaged our showrunner, Dario, and expressed my appreciation for what he’s accomplished thus far, even though we’re still in the middle of filming it. He’s made a significant improvement by developing characters that were previously overlooked in the original version of the show. As a result, the feel of this production is more like a team effort than ever before.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 is available on Disney+.
