The movie featuring Kraven the Hunter, produced by Sony Pictures, ended up being a significant disappointment. Both critics and viewers failed to take a liking to the film, resulting in global box office earnings that fell short by an impressive $40 million compared to Madame Web’s $100 million. It has become evident now that there is minimal enthusiasm for what Sony envisioned as a prosperous “Sony Pictures’ Universe of Marvel Characters.
Initially, the studio had grand intentions for a film centered around the villainous group known as the Sinister Six. This ensemble was intended to include characters such as Venom, Morbius, The Vulture, Kraven, and potentially others like Cassandra Webb and Rhino. However, it appears that those plans have been abandoned for now.
It’s worth noting that there were plans to subtly introduce the character Knull in Kraven the Hunter, as suggested by the concept art shared by artist Jules Darriulat. This artwork depicts a world overrun with dead Symbiotes, potentially pointing towards this narrative direction. However, it appears that this particular scene was not included in the final production.
It’s possible that this scene was originally intended as a sneak peek after the credits, when Kraven was slated to be released before “Venom: The Last Dance”. This could have generated anticipation for “Venom 3”, but instead, Knull’s appearance was heavily hinted at in the trailers.

Although the movie Kraven the Hunter has not been well-received by many, it continues to be screened in certain cinemas. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, the film delves into Kraven’s transformation from a man influenced by a tumultuous bond with his criminal father, portrayed by Russell Crowe, to the world’s deadliest hunter. The cast also includes Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott.
