Huntr/x debuted their popular song “Golden” on television this week with a live performance on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show.”
The musical group provides the singing for the popular Netflix animated movie, “KPop Demon Hunters.” The film follows a K-pop supergroup who secretly fight demons as they navigate the challenges of being pop stars. EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami sing the voices of the characters Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who were originally voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo.
Since its debut on June 20th, the film quickly became the most popular title on Netflix, exceeding the viewership of “Red Notice” with 236 million views by the end of August. The movie, directed by Chris Appelhans and Maggie Kang, blends action, music, and comedy – a combination that’s clearly appealed to viewers globally.
During an interview, Jimmy Fallon announced that the soundtrack for “KPop Demon Hunters” had achieved platinum status. The soundtrack actually returned to the No. 1 spot for a second time, demonstrating the group’s incredible popularity. Last week, it sold the equivalent of 102,000 albums, including a huge 117 million streams online.

The song “Golden” has reached a milestone on the music charts. In September, it became the first song by an animated character to stay at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks straight. Other popular songs from the same soundtrack – “Your Idol,” “Soda Pop,” and “How It’s Done” – also made it into the top ten.
Huntr/x continued to gain popularity after their performance with Fallon. On October 4th, they appeared on “Saturday Night Live” with Bad Bunny, performing a shorter version of their song “Golden.” Bad Bunny, who was both the host and musical guest, played a humorous role as an overexcited fan of the group during the performance.
“KPop Demon Hunters” isn’t just a popular movie; it’s become a major cultural trend, and its music is a hit online and in concerts.
