Koei Tecmo’s Bold Move to Double Workforce and Go All-In on AAA Games

Koei Tecmo, the company behind games like Dynasty Warriors and Atelier, is making big changes.

They intend to increase their workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 employees, a decision made as they aim to transition their focus from mobile games to top-tier (AAA) titles. They feel that the market for mobile games has reached its peak and is unlikely to expand significantly further.

Koei Tecmo announced they aim to significantly increase their workforce from 2,500 employees to 5,000 employees. Their strategy is to primarily focus on developing Console/PC games as opposed to mobile applications. They anticipate growth in the market with potential new hardware releases, which could include a possible sequel to the Nintendo Switch.
