The much-anticipated expansion for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, titled Legacy of the Forge, is now set to release earlier than initially planned, on September 9, 2025 – a full two weeks before autumn officially begins. While this DLC marks one step closer to the completion of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s planned DLCs, it seems there may be tough times ahead for the medieval RPG as Mysteria Ecclesiae remains on the horizon.
The expansion known as Mysteria Ecclesiae, previously highlighted by Warhorse as the largest for Kingdom Come: Deliverance yet, promises to add a completely new game region, along with the accompanying narrative and content. While it appears this could serve as the conclusive chapter, it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed whether Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s third DLC will indeed be its final one. However, a significant update hints that the saga of Kingdom Come: Deliverance might conclude following the release of Mysteria Ecclesiae, also potentially marking the end of our cherished protagonist, Henry of Skalitz’s story.
Tom McKay’s Final Mocap for KCD2 Sparks Questions About the Game’s Future

Tom McKay’s Last Day in the Studio
In their latest update on X, Warhorse Studios shared that Tom McKay, the talented voice and likeness artist behind Henry in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, recently wrapped up his final recording sessions and motion capture performances for the game. The post noted that McKay has been bringing Henry to life for almost nine years. To celebrate McKay’s dedicated efforts, Warhorse organized a heartfelt surprise party, implying that Henry’s story might be reaching its conclusion with the third DLC of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
It seems that Tom McKay’s involvement with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 might have concluded, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t work on the franchise anymore. Warhorse Studios’ recent post suggests that McKay may no longer be a part of the series, at least in relation to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC appears to be shaping up as the concluding chapter for the game.
Is This the End or Just an Intermission?
Tom McKay seems to have hinted in a personal post on X that he won’t be working on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 or any other game or DLC within the series, at least not in the foreseeable future. This revelation came a day before his final DLC 3 voice-over session and he referred to it as his “last ever session for @KingdomComeRPG,” which suggests he might be stepping away from the franchise entirely moving forward.
It appears that the third DLC of “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2” might mark a significant pause before the next game in the series, though it’s regrettably unlikely. Henry may not perish in Mysteria Ecclesiae, but this expansion could potentially wrap up his storyline, requiring “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3” to introduce a completely new main character. Such an occurrence would undeniably be disappointing, given Henry’s development and the fact that the ending of “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2” officially concludes his original journey.
