Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: How to Find Stomach Potion for the Chamberlain | For Whom the Bell Tolls

In the “Kingdom Come Deliverance 2” game, you have an opportunity to encounter Chamberlain Ulrich during the “For Whom the Bell Tolls” quest. He requests that you prepare a remedy to alleviate his stomach troubles.

In the current state of the game, I find myself in quite a predicament, as Henry seems to be confined like a captive. Yet, luckily for me, and perhaps for him too, the chamberlain appears eager to extend his favor to those who return it. If I can manage to secure a Digestive Potion for him, he’s promised to grant me more freedom within Trosky Castle – a win-win scenario indeed!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to either find or make a Digestive Potion for the chamberlain.

Digestive Potion for the Chamberlain Location | “For Whom the Bell Tolls” Quest

You can locate the Digestive Potion to assist Chamberlain Ulrich with his stomach ulcer at the peak of what he refers to as the “Crone”. This is actually the Alchemy tower situated within Trosky Castle. To get there, we’ll set off from where the Chamberlain is stationed.

To find the potion that helps Chamberlain Ulrich with his stomach problem, look for it on top of a place he calls “Crone”. This is actually an Alchemy tower in Trosky Castle. Start your journey from where the Chamberlain currently is.

Once you’ve had a chat with Chamberlain Ulrich in the kitchen, look for the wooden stairs leading southward. Go ahead and use those stairs.

After you’ve climbed the stairs, proceed along the rampart to your right, keeping on this path until you reach a building by going west-southwest.

Or more concisely:

Proceed west-southwest along the rampart to the right of the stairs, and enter a building when you arrive.

Inside the building, proceed through the door located at the opposite end from the room’s entrance. As you do so, you’ll continue to face in the southwest direction.

Take the stairs directly in front of you and keep going up two flights of stairs.

After that, proceed towards the room depicted earlier. Further ahead, you’ll discover a set of stone steps that lead upwards within the tower, allowing you to ascend.

Follow the stairs up until you reach a narrow corridor with two rooms, as shown above.

Currently, you face a choice. One path leads to attempting to acquire a Pre-made Digestive Potion by taking the door on your left, while the other path allows you to create your own by choosing the door on your right.

Acquiring the Digestive Potion

To obtain a pre-made Digestive Potion, proceed by opening the door on your left side. Keep in mind that doing so will involve unlocking a challenging lock on a chest. If you find yourself needing assistance with lock picking, feel free to explore our helpful guide on lockpicking techniques.

Should you decide to proceed in this manner, just walk into the room on your left and search for a chest located towards the north side of the room. Use your lockpicking talents to unlock it and seize the Digestive Potions that lie within. Additionally, you’ll find 2 Fever Tonicums there, which are essential for your current quest. Since you’ve already opened the chest, why not grab those tonicums as well?

Crafting the Digestive Potion

If you’d prefer to avoid dealing with difficult locks, there’s a door to your right that leads to a room containing an Alchemy Workstation and a chest loaded with materials. Fortunately, the lock on this chest is quite simple, making it much easier for you to use your lockpicking abilities!

As soon as you step into the room, you’ll meet Katherine, one of the housekeepers. If you feel like it, you can engage her in conversation, as she will address your presence. She isn’t particularly concerned about why you are there, but you’re welcome to tell her that the Chamberlain sent you if you prefer.

First, give Katherine some time to exit the room, then proceed to unlock and explore the chest she was fiddling with earlier. Since the lock on this chest is quite simple, it should be a breeze to open. The chest contains valuable Alchemy ingredients, so do make sure to gather as much as you can!

Next, face the north part of the room where you’ll spot the Alchemist’s Table. Interact with this table to begin crafting the Digestive Potion.

Here’s the recipe for it:

  1. Ingredients: Water, Nettle x1, Thistle x2, Charcoal x1
  2. Add the Thistle to the cauldron and boil for 2 turns.
  3. Grind the Nettle and add it to the cauldron.
  4. Boil for 1 turn.
  5. Grind the Charcoal and add it to the cauldron.
  6. Finally, pour.

“Holding the Digestive Potion, make your way back to Chamberlain Ulrich in the kitchen. Give him the potion to heal his ulcer and he’ll provide you with greater access to the castle, significantly easing the ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Mission accomplished!”
