Warhorse, the team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, shared that they removed a feature from the RPG because playtesting showed it was strange and didn’t add to the enjoyment of the game.
In an interview with PC Gamer, executive producer Martin Klima explained that the game will feature a system similar to GTA: San Andreas, where the main character, Henry, can gain or lose weight based on what he eats. This weight change will also impact the clothes he’s able to wear.
The February 2025 release of Kingdom Come 2 lets players wear any clothes they discover. However, this wasn’t initially the case. According to Klima, early versions of the game had a problem where characters’ body types varied, and the clothes they wore wouldn’t always fit the player’s character correctly – sometimes being too big or too small.
Players could change their size to better fit their clothing. Eating food would make a character grow larger, allowing them to wear bigger items. Conversely, reducing food intake would shrink the character, letting them wear smaller clothes. As Klima explained, this system meant that clothing fit wasn’t fixed – players could adjust their size to accommodate different gear.
Ultimately, the feature was cut from the game for several reasons. According to Klima, it was overly strange, required a lot of development effort, and wasn’t very enjoyable. The team also felt the existing clothing system was already complicated enough and didn’t need to be made more complex.
Kingdom Come 2 is on sale for just $30 right now on Amazon.
TopMob gave Kingdom Come 2 a 9 out of 10. Reviewer Richard Wakeling called it a fantastic sequel, noting that it builds on the original game with a detailed and engaging open-world RPG that gives players a lot of freedom.
Kingdom Come 2 was also among TopMob’s favorite PC games of 2025.
