After a short spell in the hospital due to complications from his cancer therapy, King Charles is back on track with his royal engagements! Specifically, on April 1st, he made his reappearance by participating in an investiture event.
The event, which took place at Windsor Castle, recognized commendable individuals from various communities throughout the U.K. Notably, this was the monarch’s first public outing following his admission to the London Clinic on March 27, where he underwent a short medical procedure.
Initially, officials from the palace disclosed that I temporarily encountered certain health complications necessitating a brief stay at the hospital for monitoring. Later on the same day, I ventured back to my London abode, Clarence House, to manage some tasks at hand.
It seems that reports indicate the King is choosing to proceed cautiously due to a recent health issue arising from cancer treatment. Consequently, several events in Birmingham planned for March 28 had to be canceled.
As reported by PEOPLE, King Charles is taking it easy following recommendations from his medical team prior to his and Queen Camilla’s scheduled trip to Italy on April 7th. It was shared by palace sources that over the weekend of March 31st, King Charles enjoyed a relaxing stay at Highgrove House, his country residence in Gloucestershire, England.
After the coronation event at Windsor Castle, it’s anticipated that he will attend multiple engagements at Buckingham Palace and various other locations in London. The upcoming week is expected to be a busy one for the King, which includes his regular face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister of Britain, Keir Starmer.
On the 7th of April, the Monarch and their Consort are scheduled to arrive in Rome for a week’s worth of Italian excursions. Yet, unfortunately, their audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican has been delayed due to the Pope still undergoing recovery from a recent hospital stay.
