Kim Kardashian Turns Heads with Fully Covered Look at Academy Museum Gala

Kim Kardashian turned heads at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night when she arrived wearing a full, custom-made mask that covered her entire face.

Kim Kardashian told Variety on the red carpet that her outfit was high fashion from Margiela, designed by Glenn Martens. She also shared that she’d brought her preferred makeup artist all the way from New York, and had a complete hair and makeup look hidden under her mask.

She admitted it was a late decision and expected he wasn’t thrilled about it. Kardashian also said she intended to take the mask off once she was inside the event.

The celebrity explained she loved the outfit because it reminded her of her own brand, Skims. She said she immediately thought of Skims when she first saw the look on the Margiela couture runway, noting it felt very on-brand. It’s still unknown if she wore the face mask throughout the entire gala, including dinner and the show.

I was so excited to hear who was being celebrated at the 2025 gala! Penélope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bruce Springsteen, and Bowen Yang were all honored, which is an amazing group of people. It’s a really important event for the museum, and Rolex sponsored it this year. All the money raised goes towards keeping their exhibitions, film screenings, and educational programs running, which I think is fantastic.

The Gala Host Committee this year included a stellar lineup of actors and actresses, such as Amy Adams, Judd Apatow, Gael García Bernal, Laura Dern, Colman Domingo, Willem Dafoe, Goldie Hawn, Oscar Isaac, Zoë Kravitz, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lupita Nyong’o, Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, Chloë Sevigny, Tessa Thompson, and Rachel Zegler.
