Kim Kardashian is making a bold statement to those believed to have robbed her in Paris, nearly a decade later. In newly shared Instagram images, Kim can be seen adorning several diamond-encrusted anklets during a recent trip to Maui. This is an unusual decision as she had previously stated that she would no longer wear extravagant jewelry following the incident.
Four beautiful anklets were displayed by Kim a few days before her accused robbers’ trial started. Known as the ‘Grandpa Robbers’, they are now standing trial for the 2016 Paris heist, where Kim Kardashian was tied up, silenced, and robbed under gunpoint of almost USD 10 million worth of jewelry.
Following the distressing event, Kim vowed not to show off or don expensive jewels anymore. True to her word, she largely abided by this, making her recent Instagram post even more meaningful. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that Kim will journey to Paris next month for a court trial.
During the burglary in Paris, Kim’s $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West was taken. Many people think that posting the ring on Instagram before the theft made her a more attractive target. Afterwards, Kim expressed that she would avoid wearing extravagant jewelry to focus on her safety instead.
Despite generally keeping her jewelry low-key following the event, Kim made some exceptions, particularly at significant gatherings. For instance, in July 2024, Kim graced an Indian wedding with her presence, showcasing large diamond accessories. It was alleged that she experienced a dramatic outburst when she apparently misplaced a massive diamond during the festivities.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that Kim has given up some of her high-profile jewels. As reported by TMZ, her former spouse, Kris Humphries, regained the engagement ring during their divorce, despite the fact that she covered most of its expenses.
In January 2023, Kim obtained Princess Diana’s famous diamond-and-amethyst cross pendant for approximately USD 200,000 at Sotheby’s Royal & Noble auction. She showcased this item in public at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in November 2024. A month before that, she adorned a Tiffany & Co. pink diamond necklace and earrings of similar design at the Academy Museum Gala.
Although she doesn’t often share it on social media, Kim’s jewelry collection remains relatively modest. However, her latest post from Maui, adorned with eye-catching anklets, serves as a subtle yet impactful declaration.
