Fans of Quentin Tarantino can finally see the long-awaited version of Kill Bill they’ve been hearing about for twenty years. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair arrives in theaters on December 5, 2025, and the first trailer is available now.
This release combines Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into Quentin Tarantino’s original, complete vision for the film, including a brand-new animated scene that hasn’t been shown before.
Featuring Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks, and David Carradine as Bill, this film presents the complete revenge story that Quentin Tarantino originally planned to release in 2003.

Trailer Released for Tarantino’s Full Cut
As a huge film buff, I was thrilled to see the trailer for The Whole Bloody Affair! It totally confirms what we’ve all been hoping for – this isn’t just a simple re-packaging of the original films. It’s the director’s complete vision, with footage restored and polished, plus smoother edits and some really interesting structural changes. Here’s what they’ve done…
- A restored sequence from the anime team behind the original O-Ren backstory
- Extended fight material
- A classic mid-film intermission—just like Tarantino planned years ago
The trailer gives us a first look at a new anime portion, showing at least one exciting action scene with the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. You can watch it below.
What’s Different From Vol. 1 and Vol. 2?
For many years, The Whole Bloody Affair has been rarely shown publicly, mostly at screenings hosted by Quentin Tarantino in Los Angeles and at a few film festivals.
This new theatrical release is the first wide release ever and includes:
- The original House of Blue Leaves sequence in full, with the longer Japanese cut
- Reworked pacing that removes the old cliffhanger split
- Extended scenes for Bill, Budd, and Elle Driver
- The new anime sequence set during The Bride’s hunt
Ever since 2007, fans have been hoping for this release, as Tarantino had promised it would eventually happen. Now, a release date is officially set.
The Story: The Bride’s Full Revenge Saga
Uma Thurman reprises her role as The Bride, a skilled assassin who was presumed dead after a brutal attack on her wedding rehearsal by Bill and his team, the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
The full cut follows her entire revenge path, including:
- The confrontation with O-Ren Ishii in Tokyo
- The showdown with Elle Driver
- Budd’s desert chapter
- And finally, the complete endgame with Bill
Telling the story as one continuous movie makes her journey feel more impactful, as there are no pauses between parts.
