Kiernan Shipka and Mckenna Grace to Star in Survival Horror-Thriller, ‘The Nowhere Game’

Actors Kiernan Shipka and McKenna Grace are joining forces for “The Nowhere Game,” a pulse-pounding survival thriller from Picturestart’s Erik Feig. Following her work in “The Last Showgirl,” Shipka, and Grace, who is soon to be seen in the next “Scream” movie, will tackle roles that test their limits to the maximum.

David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell, the team behind “The Djinn”, are set to direct. The script penned by Alex Pototsky has made it onto the 2023 Black List. WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group will manage domestic sales, while WME Independent is overseeing international rights.

The narrative unfolds around Carin (now referred to as Grace) and Allie (renamed Shipka), two companions embarking on a road trip that quickly transforms into a horrifying ordeal. They find themselves kidnapped by a relentless captor, who subjects them to a grueling survival contest, which is streamed live to an unknown viewership.

With a small head start and limited resources, they find themselves needing to navigate a merciless wilderness while being pursued. En route, they discover chilling evidence left by previous victims, hinting at the true difficulty of survival. Rather than fleeing, they choose to stand their ground, resolved to reverse their circumstances before it’s too late.

Recently, Shipka collaborated with Picturestart on the romantic comedy “Sweethearts,” which is now available to stream on Max. Additionally, she can be found in “Twisters,” “Longlegs,” and the independent film “The Last Showgirl,” where she stars alongside Pamela Anderson. Similarly, Grace, recognized for her roles in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” will soon make an appearance in “Scream 7.

Currently, Charbonier and Powell, long-time companions and filmmaking partners, have completed their third project titled “Push“. This movie features Alicia Sanz and Raul Castillo in leading roles. Their previous works, “The Boy Behind the Door” and “The Djinn“, garnered recognition on the film festival circuit and were subsequently acquired by Shudder and IFC.
