Kevin Spacey has responded to reports that he is homeless, saying they are inaccurate. He criticized a headline from The Telegraph for being misleading and, in a video on X, explained his current living situation and thanked fans for their concern.
Spacey clarified that he isn’t homeless in the traditional sense of living on the streets. He’s been staying in hotels and short-term rentals, and while he doesn’t have a permanent home, he’s financially stable and doesn’t experience the hardships faced by people who are truly homeless. He said he wouldn’t want to give the impression that he does.
Spacey explained that he generally doesn’t respond to media reports, saying he’d have no time left if he did. However, he felt compelled to address recent stories claiming he was homeless. He wasn’t responding to the press, but to the many people who had kindly offered him shelter or simply asked how he was doing. He expressed sincere gratitude for their generosity.
I was reading an interview with this actor, and he brought up a piece Mick Brown wrote about him in The Telegraph. He explained to Mick, a really great journalist, that he’s been living out of hotels and Airbnbs, traveling for work – pretty much like when he was starting out. He was really frustrated, though, because he felt a misleading headline totally overshadowed the actual, good reporting Mick had done.
In gratitude 🙏🏼

Spacey expressed sympathy for people experiencing homelessness. “Many individuals are living on the streets, in their cars, or facing severe financial hardship, and I truly feel for them,” he stated.
Honestly, reading that article, it was pretty clear I wasn’t included in whatever group they were discussing, and I never tried to suggest I was. So it really frustrated me to see the Telegraph then twist things with a clickbait headline that completely misrepresented their own reporter’s work. It felt like a real betrayal of good journalism just to get more views.
