Kevin Jonas shared insights into his battles with mental health, particularly during challenging periods in his career. In an interview with People Magazine, he discussed the “post-show lows” that he experienced after performing in numerous concerts. He explained that maintaining high energy for over 100 shows on a tour could be exhausting and tough at times.
One of the Jonas Brothers band members acknowledged that they are seeking help from a therapist as a means to manage mental exhaustion.
During a chat with a media outlet, Jonas disclosed that he had experienced exhaustion and burnout following his return from over 130 performances in Europe, where he felt drained during the journey home.
The singer elaborated, “The feelings of despair and sadness are genuine, particularly following a tour.” He continued, “Our last tour included more than 100 performances – it felt excessive, culminating in Europe. After approximately 130 shows, I boarded my flight home, delayed significantly, which is never enjoyable.
Kevin Jonas felt burnt out on his way back home
In continuation of the discussion, Jonas shared that his wife had expressed worry upon his return from his European trip.
The musician explained that he left Poland on the earliest flight, transited through Munich, but encountered a seven-hour delay. To add to his frustration, there was an unexpected stop in Nova Scotia, which extended his journey by approximately 18 hours. By the time he finally arrived home, he was already exhausted and drained.
The artist went on saying, “My spouse inquired, ‘There seems to be something off with you, are you alright?’ This led me to begin discussions with a therapist regarding managing the ups and downs, as it all feels quite sudden.
Amidst their continuing personal challenges, Kevin Jonas and his two siblings wrapped up their seventh global tour in the fall and marketed their sixth studio album titled “The Album” during that time.
Kevin Jonas’ plans to step into the Broadway Musical
In subsequent discussions, Jonas additionally disclosed details about his brother Nick Jonas’s Broadway debut. He expressed that he would not participate in such performances himself, stating that it is his younger sibling who must shoulder both the emotional burden and physical exhaustion, maintaining a character for an extended duration at home.
Kevin clarified, “[Nick] deeply immerses himself in the show, and I believe he carries its intensity home with him. This can be quite challenging if one is familiar with the production. It’s an emotional experience.” He continued, “Each evening, [Nick] exits the stage, effectively concluding a personal journey that feels like a roller coaster of emotions. Consequently, it’s a heavy burden to carry, and it can be tough to deal with such intense feelings off-stage.
He said that he can only imagine what would go into preparing for a Broadway role.
The Jonas Brothers will resume their tour for JONAS 20 once Nick has completed his Broadway performances.
