At the Netflix roast of Tom Brady, held in May this year, the renowned quarterback later shared his remorse for participating. Similarly, host Kevin Hart has since then voiced his own thoughts on the matter.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, Hart expressed that Tom Brady’s regret over participating in the roast may suggest that the event could have been toned down or taken a different turn, as certain topics might have been off-limits and already addressed.
After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback mentioned that he took the jests in stride when they were directed at him, yet expressed regret over their impact on his kids.
Hart added that he understood the reason behind Tom Brady’s statements and felt compelled to shield his loved ones.
The actor commented, “I believe he wasn’t fully aware of how far the roast might veer off course when he made that statement.”
Hart suggested a solution: “In the future, if celebrities want certain things off-limits during roasts, we’ll simply skirt that area with an easy modification in the script.”
