Kendrick Lamar is a frontrunner for the 2026 Grammy Awards, receiving nine nominations, the Recording Academy revealed on Friday.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards are taking place in Los Angeles on February 1st, and Kendrick Lamar is nominated for the biggest prizes – including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Lamar received several nominations this year across different categories. His album, GNX, is being considered for both Album of the Year and Best Rap Album. He also earned nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, plus Best Melodic Rap Performance, for his song “Luther” featuring SZA.
He’s also nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for his tracks “TV Off” (featuring Lefty Gunplay) and “Chains and Whips” (with Clipse and Pharrell). Additionally, he’s up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside SZA for their song “30 for 30.”
The rapper dominated the 2025 Grammys, taking home five awards for his popular song “Not Like Us.” He won top honors including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
Lamar has already won 22 Grammy Awards. If he wins three more this year, he’ll become the hip-hop artist with the most Grammys, breaking the current record held by Jay-Z.
