Kelly Clarkson’s son, Remy, made a witty, amusingly critical remark towards his mother following the widespread recognition of his own vocal abilities.
Back in November, the world had the chance to appreciate an eight-year-old’s singing talents when a video of him performing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” on The Kelly Clarkson Show garnered over a million views. On Wednesday, January 8th, a fresh segment from that show was made public, in which Kelly Clarkson, at 42 years old, asked her son about his feelings regarding the viral video of him singing.
Indeed, could you tell me once more about my view count? Remy playfully inquired, causing Clarkson and the audience to erupt in amusement.
Clarkson shared the details of what happened, explaining that he had received more than a million views on one of his videos.
“He goes, ‘Do you get that many views?’” she continued. “I was like, ‘Calm down — and not often.’”
Back in August 2023, when Remy was just 7 years old, it wasn’t the first time he had shared a stage with his mom – that honor happened earlier in November. During a concert at Vegas’ Planet Hollywood, the Grammy-winning artist invited him to dance while she sang her 2017 hit “Whole Lotta Woman.
The throng enthusiastically roared for Remy, and they offered comparable acclaim to his sibling River, who subsequently took the stage alongside Clarkson for a joint performance of Heartbeat Song.
Last year, Clarkson mentioned that it was her kids who suggested the unexpected cameos.
The winner of American Idol, who divorced her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2020 following seven years of marriage, splits her time between raising their kids and hosting a talk show in New York City.
A source revealed to People in December that Kelly tends to live in an insular manner, focusing primarily on her children and work.
