Kelly Clarkson shared that she’s taking a break from her Las Vegas residency to focus on her family, particularly her two kids with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. On August 6th, it was disclosed that their eldest son Remington Alexander (8) and daughter River Rose (10) needed her support since Brandon had fallen ill.
In an Instagram post, Kelly Clarkson announced that she must reschedule the remaining Studio Sessions dates in Las Vegas for August due to her children’s father being unwell. She typically keeps her personal life confidential, but given the current situation, she needs to focus on being there for her children.
Clarkson apologizes to fans for postponement
Clarkson expressed her gratitude towards fans who bought tickets for the remaining concerts. “I truly regret those who bought tickets for the shows, and I’m incredibly grateful for your patience, kindness, and compassion,” she penned down.
At Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, the more powerful vocalist has been putting on a string of performances as part of an extended series. These August Studio Sessions were a continuation after the successful run of her previous residency shows.
Kelly Clarkson’s decision resonates with many working parents
Clarkson’s interview on Kylie Kelce’s podcast in March 2024 emphasized the delicate balancing act many working parents face as they juggle their careers with parenting responsibilities. During the conversation, she opened up about co-parenting with Blackstock and shared insights into the challenges of being a working mom.
As a dedicated co-parent, I don’t abandon my responsibilities just because it’s fun. It’s more like, “Oh, he couldn’t make it due to this reason,” and I respond with, “That’s alright, no worries.” I certainly don’t spend the entire day lounging in the park without a care!
For approximately seven years, Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock were husband and wife. During this time, they became parents to two beautiful children. In June 2020, their marriage came to an end, with Clarkson filing for divorce later that year. The divorce proceedings concluded in the year 2022.
In an interview with PEOPLE in January 2024, Clarkson spoke candidly about the challenging nature of her divorce. She expressed that it felt isolating and fortunate to have music as a means to express the intense emotions she was experiencing, with her album Chemistry serving as a reflection of that emotional time.
