Kelly Clarkson marked the milestone of her talk show’s 1,000th episode with an emotional speech and a brief recap of its significant moments and challenges. On Thursday, March 20, during The Kelly Clarkson Show, she shared reminiscent stories while clips from the past six years were displayed on a screen behind her.
She stated, “We’ve shared laughter, tears, read captivating tales, sang harmoniously with others, danced in unity, celebrated triumphs, and even faced challenges side by side.” However, Clarkson admitted, “I’ve endured many losses, feeling isolated.
Initially, I wasn’t sure about the intended meaning of that remark, but it elicited a cautious chuckle from the crowd nonetheless. Immediately after, I felt a need to allay their concerns with a quick reassurance: “Don’t worry.” Then, I resumed my talk, expressing my admiration for the platform we were graced by – the talk show itself.
She acknowledged and appreciated her team for their assistance, underscoring how they’d provided solace in times of need. She voiced her thanks for the bond they’d formed, a bond that had seen them through numerous hardships, such as the COVID-19 pandemic experienced in 2019.
Clarkson swiftly inserted, “There have been many highs and lows in my personal life too,” prior to delving further into her speech. She then guided the audience through the significant accomplishments that the show had garnered during its duration.
During the duration of the show, it wasn’t explicitly mentioned that the previous vocal coach experienced personal hardships, but it’s worth noting that she went through a challenging divorce from Brandon Blackstock while the show was airing. The couple had been married for close to seven years before parting ways.
Previously married parents, known for their daughter River Rose, age 10, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, age 8, experienced a public and contentious divorce which was eventually resolved in the year 2022. The winner of American Idol subtly alluded to her personal difficulties following a recent, enigmatic break from the spotlight that lasted for several weeks.
After some time, she resumed her talk show, airing new episodes on both Tuesday and Thursday. However, she chose not to discuss her unexpected break from the show during these broadcasts. At the time when she took the hiatus, it was reported by TMZ that the multiple Grammy winner was handling a “private issue” which was not related to herself directly.
