In a recent conversation, Keke Palmer shared an exceptional experience she had while playing a guest character in a 2005 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where she met Mariska Hargitay for the first time.

During an interview for BuzzFeed’s Puppy segment, aimed at marketing her latest book titled “Master of Me,” Palmer admitted that she was temporarily lost for words when working alongside the renowned actress known for portraying Olivia Benson on set.

Actress from Rags shared that she’s been a fan of the show since her childhood days, and it was a privilege to collaborate with Hargitay on set. Her words were, “I spent my youth admiring her show and can’t believe I got to work alongside her when I was just 12 years old.

In an episode featuring a guest appearance by Palmer, her character portrayed a hurricane-rescued girl who found it hard to keep going during the hospital scene. When Hargitay’s character, Olivia Benson, entered, Palmer admitted she felt overwhelmed and momentarily forgot some of her lines, as if this scripted situation was actually happening.

She gushed about the moment, saying, “[Hargitay] walks through that door, and I became speechless, y’all. I forgot how to act. I thought I really was from Katrina and was on my last breath. I could not believe that the woman that had saved all these young girls and these young boys was here to save me. I was in deep shock for most of the scene. I told my mom, ‘I can’t breathe, I can’t think, I can’t talk. This is Olivia Benson.'”

In the tenth episode of Season 7, entitled Storm, the actress from Hustlers took on the role of Tasha. After experiencing a harrowing ordeal when she was kidnapped, Tasha worked closely with Detectives Benson and Stabler to track down her captor and save her brother.

In the future, when Keke Palmer messaged Hargitay again to express her continued inspiration, Hargitay responded affectionately, acknowledging her pride in Palmer’s accomplishments and recalling fond memories from their time working together on set.
