As a seasoned observer of celebrity lives and a firm believer in the importance of family, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing custody battle between Javaughn Young-White and Kehlani. Having followed their relationship and the birth of Adeya Nomi, it’s heartbreaking to see such a dispute escalate to this extent.
Javaughn Young-White is striving for sole guardianship of his five-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi, whom he co-parents with singer Kehlani. According to court documents acquired by Billboard, People, and other comparable news sources, Young-White, who was in a relationship with the 29-year-old singer from 2018 to 2019, has asked for full custody of their daughter due to allegations that Kehlani is part of a group that dictates her actions and also influences Adeya’s upbringing.
In a court document filed on July 24th, Young-White stated that Adeya was born at home in an environment he considers a cult which Kehlani is part of. Since Adeya’s birth didn’t occur in a traditional hospital setting, Young-White’s name isn’t listed on her birth certificate. For over five years, he has asked for his name to be added but claims that Kehlani has not responded positively. Additionally, he alleged that despite multiple requests, Kehlani hasn’t provided him with Adeya’s social security number. (Billboards reports this information.)
In court documents, Young-White stated his uncertainty about whether his daughter possesses a Social Security number.
Javaughn Young-White, a well-known figure on the internet and the brother of American entertainer Jaboukie Young-White, claims in his records that the individuals governing Kehlani’s behavior falsely convinced the singer that he posed a threat to their daughter and could cause her harm. This allegedly led to him being barred from visiting Adeya for several months. Additionally, he accuses the head of the suspected cult of having multiple accusations of sexual misconduct levied against him.
Based on Young-White’s declaration, it appears that when Kehlani is touring and away from home, their daughter Adeya is looked after by members of her cult. During these periods, Adeya shares a bed with these individuals and is even bathed by them. Young-White explains that he has voiced his worries to Kehlani, but she hasn’t paid heed. Instead, he claims that she has publicly criticized him on social media.
As a devoted fan, I’m expressing this in my own words: I’m stepping forward to prove my fatherhood of Adeya, so I can fully exercise all the rights that come with it. Plus, I’m seeking financial assistance from Kehlani as a father should. Moreover, I’ve requested a psychological evaluation for Kehlani to help clarify if there’s indeed a bipolar disorder present.
