Keanu Reeves Faces His Past in Jonah Hill’s Dark Comedy ‘Outcome’ — Watch the Trailer

Apple TV dropped the first trailer for “Outcome,” a dark comedy film directed by Jonah Hill and featuring Keanu Reeves. Breaking from his usual good-guy image, Reeves plays Reef Hawk, a film star who has a lot of apologies to make.

Okay, so the trailer sets things up with Reef – apparently, he’s the big movie star of the last forty years, according to his friends Kyle and Xander. We’re talking about a guy who’s been in three huge franchises. But here’s the thing: he’s been out of the game for five years, battling a heroin addiction he’s desperate to hide, and now he’s trying to make a comeback. It’s a classic setup, and honestly, I’m intrigued.

Things get complicated when Reef’s lawyer, played by Jonah Hill, finds a damaging video that threatens to end his career. Reef then works with a public relations team to find whoever is trying to blackmail him. Their strategy involves Reef publicly apologizing to everyone he’s hurt over the years – a task that will take a while, as the trailer hints at a lot of past misdeeds, and even includes a quick appearance by famous director Martin Scorsese.

Keanu Reeves headlines a new movie directed by Jonah Hill, alongside Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer. The film will be available on Apple TV starting April 10th.

The movie boasts a talented cast including Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Welker White, Kaia Gerber, and Ivy Wolk. It was co-written by Justin Hill and Ezra Woods, who previously worked together on the upcoming Warner Bros. film Cut Off, which will be released on July 17th. Hill is also a producer on the film.

This is director Hill’s second feature film, after Mid ’90s in 2018. It also represents his return to acting, following his 2023 Netflix film You People, which he both co-wrote and starred in.

Outcome will be available to stream on Apple TV starting April 10.
