According to reports, Keanu Reeves has verified that a sequel to the film ‘Constantine’ has been proposed to DC Studios and is now preparing to advance to the script-writing phase.
It’s intriguing that the timeline aligns with filmmakers having meetings with Gunn this week, and rumors suggesting a significant DC Studios announcement is due next week.
One of the filmmakers working on the “Clayface” movie is James Watkins, and it’s been noted that Gunn shared a picture with Zack Snyder, fueling rumors that Zack may be returning to DC Films.

Reeves disclosed that he is now prepared to pen the script for “Constantine 2,” a project where he will once again collaborate with the original director, Francis Lawrence.
Reeves shared that the team has been aiming to create this movie for more than ten years. Lately, they managed to construct a narrative and proposed it to DC Studios, who agreed. Now, he mentioned, we’ll attempt to pen a screenplay.
In addition, Reeves affirmed that the upcoming film will take place within the same universe as the original, but it seems like it’ll have a more ominous tone to it.
“We’re not going off that,” he joked, “John Constantine’s going to be tortured even more.”

It’s been over two decades since we embarked on this cinematic journey with the first installment, and I haven’t felt this level of excitement about the project and its potential authenticity. This one truly seems to have a chance at greatness.
Reeves added, “I’m aching to play this guy.”

Director Francis Lawrence hinted at the possibility of reappearing characters from the initial film, which hit screens back in 2005. He also suggested that the upcoming project will delve deeply into John Constantine’s personal narrative.
He expressed, “What has always mattered significantly to me and was one of the aspects I admired in the initial movie, was that John Constantine’s motivation was intensely personal.” He added, “It isn’t a typical ‘save-the-world’ scenario. We aimed to create a narrative that was profoundly personal because John Constantine inherently is quite self-centered – a trait I appreciate about him. This aspect was crucial. However, I don’t want to reveal too much.
Lawrence remarked, “Re-exploring this character is truly enjoyable, and it’s an exciting prospect to delve once more into this captivating universe. While much may seem familiar, there will also be lots that’s fresh, distinct, and unexpected. It certainly feels like a fitting continuation.
