Kathryn Hahn Had ‘Unfinished Business’ After Wanda Vision, But When Marvel Called For Agatha All Along She Was Surprised

As a dedicated fan and follower of Kathryn Hahn’s career, I must say that her journey with Marvel has been nothing short of magical! From her intriguing debut as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision to her surprising spin-off series, Agatha All Along, she has proven herself to be a formidable force in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

1. WandaVision’s final episode saw Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, stuck in a cursed state of immobility, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating what would happen next. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the actress hinted that her character might return to provide answers to lingering questions. During her conversation with head writer Jac Schaeffer, she even mentioned this very topic as a possible future development.

She recollected Jac Schaeffer expressing, “Boy, I can’t wait to write for you once more,” to which she replied. As we concluded WandaVision, we often echoed, “There’s still work left undone” to each other. The future results were unknown when our thoughts aligned, but it was satisfying enough at the moment.

Indeed, their intrusion was proven correct, and Hahn got a full-fledged spin-off series revolving around the evil Salem witch and her adventures. However, she was surprisingly intimidated when Marvel called to pitch her the spin-off idea. “I got a call from Louis D’Esposito saying, ‘How’d you like your own Marvel show?’ — a call you never get. My heart was pounding,” she recalled.

1. Throughout the situation, Hahn continually sought methods to “reduce” tension until the gunfire started, even though he was well aware of how significant it all was. To begin with, the actress graced our screens in the Disney+ WandaVision series. Despite her character being an evil witch, she managed to win over fans’ hearts, and her song “Agatha All Along,” which later became the title for the spin-off series, turned out to be incredibly popular.

Following her standout role in the initial series featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff character, and marking her entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hahn demonstrated her acting prowess. Could it be possible that her character might show up in upcoming MCU films such as Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars?

When asked about her character’s potential involvement in the Avenger films and its future, she stated that such an occurrence would only transpire if it was considered “essential” and “intriguing” for the movie. Furthermore, she hinted at the possibility of a surprising entrance into this universe by portraying a witch, which she found fittingly mischievous, reminiscent of a wicked step-sister. She seemed to enjoy this prospect.

Agatha All Along will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting September 18.
