Kate Hudson Recalls ‘Stoic’ Dating Advice She Received From Stepfather Kurt Russell: ‘Take The Romance Out Of It…’

As an ardent admirer of Kate Hudson, her journey from the silver screen to the music world has left me absolutely starstruck! Her latest revelation about dating advice from none other than Kurt Russell is nothing short of intriguing. The idea of seeking out someone’s worst side might sound counterintuitive at first, but it makes perfect sense when you consider her unique perspective, shaped by the long-lasting relationship between her parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Kate Hudson is one of the most talented actresses who has achieved tremendous success throughout her career. Earlier this year, Hudson launched her debut music album, Glorious, which received a positive response from her fans. The actress recently revealed how she received interesting dating advice from her stepfather, Kurt Russell.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Hudson shared that Russell told her that when dating a guy, she should look for someone who first shows their worst side, noting, “Kurt always used to say, you want the guy that puts their worst foot forward.”

She conveyed the idea that when someone reveals their less favorable character immediately, they’re being truthful with you, allowing you to understand what lies ahead. The article pointed out that she termed this method as a “stoic” approach to relationships and a means to “remove the romantic element,” despite her self-proclaimed identity as a “romantic” individual.

Speaking of my personal life, I’d like to shed some light on the union between my parents – Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. They’ve been an item since 1983, but interestingly enough, they haven’t taken the plunge into marriage. Despite this, they share a beautiful bond and have a son, Wyatt Russell, who is a testament to their enduring love.

In her interview, the actress from the film “Marshall” mentioned that when her parents decided to become partners, it wasn’t just about love, but primarily about being truthful with each other. They had already experienced parenthood together, which gave them the ability to be truly open about their identities and what they expected in their relationship. She emphasized that they began their partnership with a high level of open communication.

In the movie Almost Famous, the actress character expressed a preference for straightforwardness in relationships, stating that she dislikes false or overly positive portrayals (sugar-coating). She believes that sugar-coated beginnings often lead to poor outcomes. Consequently, when she begins dating someone, she requests honesty by asking, “Which is your less appealing foot? Just tell me the truth immediately, and we can avoid all the unnecessary details.”

Kate Hudson is currently engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa; together they have a daughter named Rani Rose.
