The film, a biographical musical drama set to release in late 2025, stars Hudson and Hugh Jackman and is inspired by the story of a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder, based in Milwaukee.
Kate Hudson’s stepfather, Kurt Russell, told AARP’s Movies for Grownups how proud he was of her Oscar nomination. He noted this is her second nomination, and that her mother, Goldie Hawn, has also won an Oscar and been nominated twice. Russell said it would be special if both Kate and Goldie were to win Oscars, and he’s rearranged his schedule to be there to support her at the ceremony.
