Kanye West Appears To Catch Some Sleep While Testifying in Malibu Mansion Case

Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, recently made headlines during a court case in Los Angeles. He seemed to doze off while giving testimony in a lawsuit filed by contractor Tony Saxon, who claims Ye owes him over $1 million for work done on a major renovation of Ye’s old Malibu home in 2021. Saxon says this money covers unpaid wages and expenses.

During his courtroom testimony, the musician, known as Ye, often appeared sleepy. Witnesses reported he frequently yawned, kept his eyes closed for extended periods, and sometimes seemed to nod off while answering questions.

This behavior was noticeable enough that the plaintiff’s lawyer, Ron Zambrano, questioned whether Ye was actually asleep. When awake, Ye’s answers were typically short and lacked detail.

He often responded with just “yes,” “no,” or said he “didn’t recall.” However, when asked about specific, unusual details, he could provide more information – for example, he remembered Saxon’s body odor but claimed not to recall trips to a hardware store.

During today’s court appearance, Kanye West, known as Ye, appeared detached and gave brief responses, frequently saying he didn’t remember or couldn’t recall details. The description included terms like “emotionless” and “statue-like.” This account is accompanied by a sketch from courtroom artist Mona Shafer Edwards.

Ye also made a point of saying he prefers to be called simply “Ye,” not “mister.” He clarified that reports about wanting all the staircases replaced with slides weren’t accurate – he only planned to turn one into a slide. He also confirmed he had a working plumbing system designed for the house, though it was unconventional.

Following testimony from his wife, Bianca Censori, who appeared in court as a witness, Kanye West’s legal team is focusing on claims that the project’s manager, Saxon, wasn’t truthful about his qualifications when he was hired. Censori stated that Saxon misrepresented his experience, a key part of West’s defense. Saxon, however, insists he was upfront about being a project manager, not a licensed contractor.

Despite these legal issues, West is still working on his music. He’s getting ready to release his twelfth studio album, Bully, on March 20th. The album is a follow-up to his Vultures series and fans have been eagerly awaiting its release after several delays over the past year.

Alongside the new album, Ye is planning a large series of concerts throughout the year. He’s confirmed major stadium shows in Europe, including the Netherlands and Italy, representing his first major international tour in over ten years.

Fans are eagerly awaiting announcements about possible additional tour dates in Asia and North America, as he manages his successful music career alongside his other business projects.
