Kanna Finds a Cat in Episode 7 of The Mononoke Lecture Logs!

‘The Basket That Dare Not Be Unveiled,’ sees Kanna uncover tales of a soldier said to bear a wicker container holding spirits known as mononoke. When Akihiko is tasked by Reijiro to examine a bartender named Kenichi, they cross paths with Soichiro, Reijiro’s sibling, at a jazz club.

It’s uncovered later that Kenichi has been secretly creating pottery while under pressure. An undercover operation led by Akihiko unmasked the deception, resulting in the capture of those involved. Once released from control, Kenichi openly expresses his respect for a potter and is motivated to pursue his love for it sincerely.

In Episode 7 of The Mononoke Lecture Logs Of Chuzenji-Sensei, Kanna and Atsuko come across a scruffy street cat. Touched by its plight, Kanna resolves to find it a new home. However, Atsuko suggests they clean it up first, leading them to bring the feline to the Chuzenji residence instead.

Thanks to Yukie, Chizuko’s friend, the cat will get a bath and be given the name Zakuro. On the other hand, Chizuko will face distress due to her misplaced treasured hand mirror. Just at that moment, Zakuro seems to dash off, leading Kanna and Atsuko towards something connected to the lost item.

Title options for Episode 7 of The Mononoke Lecture Logs Of Chuzenji-Sensei include ‘The Visiting Bakeneko’ or ‘A Visit from a Ghost Cat.’ It will air in Japan on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025.
