Kaley Cuoco is looking back on her career, but doesn’t have the fondest memories of her time on the show Charmed. The actress, known for 8 Simple Rules, recently shared that her experience on the supernatural drama is a bit of a hazy memory.
Kaley Cuoco recently discussed joining the cast of Charmed during its final season (2005) on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard and Monica Padman. She playfully wondered if other actors sometimes forget difficult experiences when they’ve worked on many projects over the years. Cuoco remembered feeling a lot of pressure on her first day, which included a formal photoshoot with the show’s stars, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Holly Marie Combs. She described it as feeling like she was interrupting a family dinner, especially since she hadn’t met her new colleagues before being asked to pose with them.
Kaley Cuoco, then 21, recalls feeling incredibly self-assured but also deeply anxious. She thought she was amazing at the time, but was also scared to join a group that already had a strong, close bond.
The actress specifically thanked Alyssa Milano for helping her adjust, recalling a sweet memory of when they first met. Kaley Cuoco explained that Milano rushed over to greet her, warmly welcoming her to the show and giving her a huge hug.
Kaley Cuoco’s interactions with some of her castmates were a bit complicated. She sensed Rose McGowan wasn’t thrilled about her joining the show, and she still isn’t sure how McGowan felt about it. However, Cuoco is very thankful for the support Alyssa Milano gave her at the time.
Kaley Cuoco remembered a valuable lesson from an early photoshoot on Charmed throughout her twelve years playing Penny on The Big Bang Theory. It taught her how awkward it could be for new actors joining an established cast, so she always made a special effort to warmly welcome guest stars to the show.
Since becoming known for her roles in both fantasy and comedy, Kaley Cuoco has remained a prominent figure on television. Her recent project, the mystery thriller Vanished on MGM+, features her as an archaeologist investigating the disappearance of her boyfriend in France, with Sam Claflin playing alongside her.
Despite the recent cancellation of her dark comedy series, Based on a True Story, the actress continues to be a successful executive producer. She’s now developing a new half-hour comedy called Kansas City Star for HBO, and she’s collaborating with the team that created the popular show Hacks.
Beyond her work, Kaley Cuoco is happily focused on her family life with her fiancé, Tom Pelphrey, and their two-year-old daughter, Matilda. The couple recently garnered attention for their stylish appearance together at the Critics’ Choice Awards, where Pelphrey was nominated for his performance in the series Task.
