Justin Theroux has wrapped up filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2, where he plays a character he describes as wealthy, arrogant, and unintelligent. He said the part was a lot of fun.
The actor said it was wonderful to work with Emily Blunt again, and he was particularly thrilled to share the screen with Meryl Streep. He explained that having watched her throughout his life, performing alongside her was a real pleasure and honor.
The follow-up film, directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, is adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s 2013 novel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.
This film continues the story from the popular 2006 movie, with the return of the original cast, including Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling, Tracie Thoms as Lily, and Tibor Feldman as Irv Ravitz.
The movie features several new actors, including Kenneth Branagh as Miranda’s husband. Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, Sydney Sweeney, Donatella Versace, and Lady Gaga will also be appearing in different parts.
Filming started on June 30th, with locations in New York City and Milan, Italy, including scenes at Newark Airport and Milan Fashion Week. The majority of the main filming was finished by mid-October, and other cast members completed their parts later in the month.
Theroux’s funny and lighthearted portrayal is expected to bring some much-needed humor to the glamorous world of fashion seen in the first movie. He also noted that everyone involved in the project understood how important and well-known the original film was.
The sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is coming to US theaters on May 1, 2026, and fans are excited to see who will be back and who will join the cast.
