Justin Bieber expresses no remorse over concluding his extended professional relationship with ex-manager Scooter Braun. The music sensation is joyfully reveling in his ‘artistic liberation’ as he unveils his latest album titled Swag, marking his first comprehensive project in a four-year span.
On the 11th of July, Friday, Justin Bieber released his new track titled ‘Swag’, and according to reports from Rolling Stone on the following day, the 12th of July, Saturday, the decision to part ways with Scooter Braun was a move that had been brewing for quite some time.
According to the source, Justin Bieber has been eager for a long time to part ways from Scooter Braun and his team. Now that he’s completely independent, he can finally unveil this new album to his fans and the entire world.
Creative freedom for the first time
As reported by the source, this marks a first in Bieber’s artistic journey where he has complete creative control over his work. They further explained that such unfettered creative freedom, which had been previously unattained, enabled him to produce the finest collection of songs he has ever created, as he was no longer pressured to perfect each individual single or album.
In the studio, it was revealed that Bieber felt free to express himself genuinely and authentically. It’s been said that this is the most unfiltered version of Justin Bieber’s musical talent we’ve heard yet. The reason for this is that he finally had full creative control over his work for the first time in his career, making the music more sincere and exposed.
Braun still supports Bieber’s new album
Even though our professional journey parted ways in 2023 following over a decade of shared success, I, as a die-hard fan of Justin Bieber, couldn’t help but express my admiration for his latest work. On July 12, I took to Instagram Stories to share my thoughts, describing his new music as “beautiful” and “raw.
Over the weekend, Braun has been having a wonderful start and receiving many messages about his thoughts on Justin’s latest album… So, here’s my take: This is, without question, the most genuine Justin Bieber album yet. It’s beautiful, sincere, and perfectly captures who he is. And that authenticity really makes a difference.
He commented, “For nearly two decades, I’ve been fortunate enough to observe his development. There is a moment on every path when an artist truly comes into their own, and that’s exactly what he has accomplished with this work. He poured his heart and soul into this project, and you can sense it in every note.
The parting between Bieber and Braun wasn’t clean-cut; there were some financial obligations left unresolved. As reported by PEOPLE, a sum of money that Bieber owed Braun from an advance for his scrapped 2022 Justice tour was covered by Braun’s company, HYBE, when the event was canceled, amounting to USD 26 million owed to AEG Presents. Now, Bieber has agreed to repay this debt to both Braun and HYBE.
A source close to the situation revealed to PEOPLE that Bieber will additionally compensate Braun with around $5.5 million, intended to reimburse half of approximately $11 million in outstanding commission fees.
