Justin Baldoni’s $400M Lawsuit Against Blake Lively Claims Cast Manipulation: ‘Felt Compelled to Shun’

Justin Baldoni claims that Rachel Lively deliberately instigated a cast conflict in his defamation and extortion lawsuit, which he submitted against the actress on January 16th. He alleges that Lively encouraged her co-star, Isabela Ferrer, and others to avoid him.

The lawsuit points out a shift in Ferrer’s actions, referring to earlier compliments given to Baldoni as reported by People. The court documents contain snapshots showing previous gratitude towards Baldoni for fostering a “comfortable, secure environment” during Ferrer’s first feature. The lawsuit claims that this change occurred after Ferrer spent time with Lively at promotional events, leading her to stop following Baldoni on social media.

In a notable turn of events, Ferrer collaborated with Baldoni when Lively was absent from the set. However, it wasn’t until Ferrer spent considerable time with Lively during movie promotions that Ferrer felt strongly enough about her kind words to distance himself from Baldoni.

Back on December 20th, I found myself compelled to take legal action against Baldoni, due to the allegedly toxic work environment he’s been fostering and his questionable professional behavior. My grievances also include an instance where Baldoni inserted an off-script scene that made me uncomfortable, involving Ferrer and my co-star, Alex Neustaedter. The lawsuit asserts that following the filming of this scene, Baldoni made comments that left me feeling uneasy, which I can only describe as deeply disturbing.

Ever since legal issues cropped up with Ferrer, she has chosen to remain quiet on the matter. Meanwhile, other collaborators have shown support for Lively by making public gestures like Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar, while Colleen Hoover penned a few words of praise. They acknowledged Lively’s professionalism and admirable character.

Based on an earlier conversation with the media outlet, Ferrer described Blake Lively as an “angel,” indicating a genuine and close bond between them. However, her current stance remains uncertain amidst the escalating conflict in the ongoing disagreement.
