JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH Sequel Gets HUGE Casting Update

This summer’s blockbuster, Jurassic World Rebirth, earned over $868 million around the world. While Universal Studios hasn’t officially announced a sequel, a recent report from InSneider indicates they’re planning to bring back the entire cast and director Gareth Edwards for another film.

Talk about a potential new Jurassic World movie started months ago, but it never officially got the go-ahead. However, according to industry insider Jeff Sneider, it now looks very likely to happen.

According to the report, Jamie Edwards is very close to signing on for the next movie. Universal Pictures also reportedly wants to reunite the original cast, including Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, Mahershala Ali (an Academy Award winner) as Duncan Kincaid, and Jonathan Bailey, recently named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, as Dr. Henry Loomis. This is the most information we’ve received about a possible sequel, and fans are eager for another journey to the island.

Shortly after Rebirth came out, Edwards acknowledged rumors about a sequel, suggesting it wasn’t entirely impossible. Given the film’s potential as a franchise, the idea wasn’t far-fetched. However, Edwards clarified that no sequel discussions were happening at the time, as the movie was originally conceived as a complete, standalone story.

I haven’t discussed a sequel with anyone – not even David Koepp, Frank Marshall, or anyone at Universal. Everyone’s just focused on making this film the best it can be, and after that, its success is out of our hands, really.

Now, we’re not so sure that these “talks” are purely hypothetical anymore.
