JURASSIC PARK Raptors Get Scientifically Accurate Feathers in Fan-Made Video

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I must say that Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” remains an undisputed classic, despite being three decades old. However, its portrayal of dinosaurs, while captivating, isn’t entirely in line with current scientific understanding. Over the past three decades, our knowledge about dinosaurs has evolved significantly, and it’s been discovered that many species had feathers, even the terrifying Velociraptors from the movie. Recently, I learned from “Comic Book” that a YouTuber named CoolioArt has reimagined a couple of raptor scenes from “Jurassic Park,” giving them a feathered makeover. These updated scenes are a whole new level of chilling. You can watch the transformation below:

The initial spine-tingling moment in the revamped “Jurassic Park” is the well-known kitchen scene. In this scene, characters Tim and Lex find themselves evading rampant raptors. Regardless of giving these creatures black feathers, they remain just as nerve-wracking – whether they appear like colossal lizards or birds of immense size. Despite witnessing this scene multiple times, it continues to instill a sense of unease in us. Even with the redesign, their terror is unchanged.

In the second reworked scene, we find ourselves at the movie’s climax, where raptors surround Lex, Tim, Dr. Grant, and Dr. Sattler in the main lobby of Jurassic Park. The idea of visualizing these raptors as “giant turkeys” (as that mischievous kid suggested at the start) only amplifies their terror. Unfortunately, this Jurassic Park special edition ends prematurely, leaving us in anticipation for part three to showcase the T-Rex battling those nuisance raptors. Contrary to popular misconception during the film, the T-Rex was not feathered; modern science indicates that they were scaly instead. At least Jurassic Park got that detail correct.
