Okay, big news for holiday movie plans! Sony just shifted the release date of Jumanji 4 – yes, another one! – from December 11th to Christmas Day, December 25th. Honestly, it seems they didn’t want it going head-to-head with what’s shaping up to be a massive battle between Dune: Part Three and the next Avengers film on December 18th. Variety broke the story, and it makes a lot of sense – you don’t want Jumanji getting lost in that blockbuster clash!
I think moving the release date was a really smart move. Instead of getting lost between those two big action movies, Jumanji 3 now has a chance to be the go-to family film over the Christmas holidays. It gives it a much better shot at success, honestly!
The timing is a smart move for the series, mirroring the successful December 2017 release of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which continued to perform well in theaters throughout the holiday season.

What Is Jumanji 3 About?
Sony hasn’t revealed much about the story yet, keeping the plot a secret. However, we do know this movie continues directly after Jumanji: The Next Level, and Jake Kasdan is returning as director.
I was so hooked by the last Jumanji movie, especially that cliffhanger hinting the game’s dangers were escaping into our world! It definitely sets up the next one, even though Sony hasn’t officially said what it’s about yet. What’s even more surprising is that people are saying this upcoming film might be the last one with this group of characters – it’s a little sad to think about, but I’m excited to see how it all wraps up!
