Julianne Hough has expressed her opinions about Anna Delvey’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars, a TV show where Delvey, known more for being a criminal and a fraudster, was announced as a potential contestant back in September 4, 2015.

In the September 16th episode of Call It What It Is podcast, host Hough (aged 36) discussed Delvey’s participation and shared her thoughts with co-hosts Jessica Capshaw and Camila Luddington. Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Delvey, who remains on house arrest and will compete with an ankle monitor, they all expressed surprise, particularly Hough, who enthusiastically expressed admiration for Delvey’s determination. Hough revealed that she was rooting for Delvey to win, having not seen any other contestants yet, showcasing her strong desire for Delvey’s success.

She said, “It’s controversial for sure. I’m so obsessed.”

Luddington exclaimed, “I’m utterly captivated by her, to the point that I desperately want her to triumph! I couldn’t tell you much about the other competitors. frankly, they don’t matter. All I care about is her victory. And just a side note, she might be deported at any moment.

Hough also pointed out that Dancing with the Stars could potentially serve as a chance for Delvey to have some fun at last. She added a touch of ‘Inventing Anna’ by mentioning she had watched the series in which Julia Garner portrayed Delvey. They both found it captivating, along with the character’s background story.

Anna Sorokin, better known as Anna Delvey, is famously recognized for her scams while posing as a wealthy German heiress with enough resources to deceive prominent figures, financial institutions, and hotels. In 2017, she was arrested and eventually imprisoned in 2019 following two years of serving time for theft and robbery. She was sentenced to a prison term spanning between four to twelve years as a result.

Due to her exemplary conduct, she was released from prison before February 2021. However, later she was detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for exceeding the validity of her visa. Currently, she is under house arrest in New York City as she challenges her deportation order.
