Julián Ortega, Actor On Netflix’s Elite Passes Away At 41 After Cardiac Arrest

As a fellow artist who has walked the winding path of our creative industry, I find myself deeply saddened by the loss of Julián Ortega. The news of his passing at such a young age is a stark reminder of the fragility and unpredictability of life.

41-year-old actor Julian Ortega, best known for his role in Netflix’s popular Spanish series Elite, has tragically passed away. On August 25, he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at Playa de Zahora beach in Cádiz, Spain, according to The Olive Press.

The report confirmed that the unfortunate event transpired as Ortega stood near the seashore approximately 5:30 pm. Despite the tireless efforts of emergency responders to resuscitate him for half an hour, they were unable to revive him, and his death was officially declared at the location itself.

The Spanish Association of Actors and Actresses announced his death by publishing a tribute on Monday, August 26. In the obituary, they expressed their heartfelt sympathies to his loved ones, saying “Rest in peace.”

In six episodes of Elite’s first season, the actor took on the role of the restaurant manager at “La Cabana.” Besides his appearance in the Netflix teen series, his resume also includes roles in shows like Cable Girls, Caronte, Velvet, and The Countryside.

Following the sad news of his passing, numerous individuals expressed their sympathies online. Stage and screen actress Sílvia Marsó offered her condolences on Instagram with a photo of the two. “I can barely fathom how his family, friends, and colleagues in the industry must be feeling right now. It’s unbearable,” she penned.

Actress Helena Lanza honored the deceased actor, describing him as a compassionate, gentle, giving, intelligent, and gifted soul. She reminisced about her pleasure in watching him perform and cherished the times they shared ideas together. In conclusion, she fondly remembered their numerous conversations and laughs. “Julian,” she said, “I will forever keep you in my memories.”

As a devoted admirer, I – Raquel Guerrero, the actress fondly known as La Madrina – commend Ortga for his authenticity both on and off the screen. It was truly an honor to have been part of this journey with him, witnessing his learning, humility, and dedication.
