Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith Finalize Divorce, Continue to Clash Over Daughter’s Schooling: Reports

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have amicably settled their divorce, yet there seems to be disagreement regarding their daughter’s education. Recent court documents, obtained by TMZ, reveal that a mediator was employed to establish a temporary child custody arrangement for their daughter, Juno, in the interim.

Smith, through her lawyer, has petitioned the court for a decision that permits her to collect Juno from her current elementary school. In the submitted documents, the British actress expresses her desire to move Juno to a different school next academic year; however, this proposal is met with opposition by Jackson.

Smith asserts that she thoroughly investigated the newly proposed school, had discussions about it with Jackson, and verified its proximity to his residence. Yet, despite these precautions, her ex-spouse persists in refusing the school transfer.

In their arrangement, it was decided that Jackson would be responsible for a monthly child support payment of $2,787, but none for spousal support. Now, Smith is requesting that he cover her legal fees totaling $75,000 in relation to the school-related dispute.

In 2018, they crossed paths for the first time at Usher’s birthday bash, and whispers about their relationship started when they were frequently seen together in Los Angeles. The following New Year was celebrated by the duo in Nicaragua, as reported by PEOPLE magazine.

Following a swift and clandestine courtship, the pair discreetly got married in December 2019. The subsequent year saw Smith showing off her pregnancy during an everyday walk with Jackson in Los Angeles. A few months on, the Queen & Slim star publicly announced that they were expecting a daughter.

She shared a video of her baby bump on social media, captioned, “Can you spot the dancing inside there? Every time I attempt to record, she pauses.” In 2023, the actress initiated a divorce from Jackson, and he publicly acknowledged his romance with Lupita Nyong’o about a month later.
