Jonah Hill Nearly Unrecognizable in Blonde Wig and Glittering Outfit on ‘Cut Off’ Set After Dramatic Weight Loss

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw photos of Jonah Hill on set! He’s filming a new comedy called Cut Off, and he looks totally different! He’s got a long blonde wig and these crazy camouflage glasses – he’s completely transformed his look for the role. It’s amazing how much he’s changed his appearance!

He finished his striking outfit with a sparkly shirt displaying the word “SOS” in flames against an American flag, and equally dazzling jeans. Between filming scenes for the eagerly awaited project, Hill was spotted talking with producer Matt Dines.

The film Cut Off stars Hill and Kristen Wiig, and features Bette Midler and Nathan Lane as their parents. Adriana Barraza and Langston Kerman have recently joined the cast, which also includes singer Camila Cabello, who has been nominated for a Grammy.

This movie tells the story of two rich siblings who unexpectedly lose their parents’ financial support and have to learn to fend for themselves. Jonah Hill takes on multiple roles in the film – he’s the star, director, a producer, and co-wrote the screenplay with Ezra Woods.

Filming began in California in September 2025, and Bette Midler and Nathan Lane quickly joined the project. Over the next few months, the cast grew to include Kristen Wiig, Melissa Barrera, Camila Cabello, Harvey Kerman, Chelsea Peretti, and Cary Christopher.

The movie will be released in theaters on July 17th by Warner Bros. Pictures, putting it up against other popular films released during the summer. Initial reactions indicate the movie will feature the witty and satirical humor that Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader are famous for.

Beyond directing, Jonah Hill has openly discussed his personal growth and health journey over the past ten years. In his 2022 documentary, Stutz, he shared his thoughts on accepting his body and how being in the public eye has affected him.

He explained in the film that constant criticism of his weight from the media deeply affected his mental health, preventing him from overcoming negative self-perception and personal growth.

Now 42, Jonah Hill seems to be prioritizing projects where he has full creative freedom, thanks to his Strong Baby production company. He recently starred in and wrote the Netflix film, You People.

As a huge fan of his work, I’ve been following the set photos for his new movie, Cut Off, and I’m already excited! It looks like he’s really gone all-in on the character’s style – we’re talking a blonde wig, tons of rhinestones, and just a generally over-the-top look. It suggests the film is going to be a really visually striking and fun ride, and honestly, it’s a welcome change of pace for him. I think this one will really stand out in his filmography!
