As a lifestyle expert with a deep-rooted passion for all things Marvel, I am beyond excited about the impending return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again. With three seasons under my belt and countless rewatches, I can confidently say that this is a comeback worth anticipating.
Since Marvel declared the release of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ Hotstar in March 2025, fans have been excitedly anticipating Jon Bernthal’s reappearance in the Daredevil world. He hinted that the upcoming series would surpass what has come before.
At the recent Marvel Studios and Disney’s D23 event, Bernthal expressed that if you were a fan of the previous show, you’ll definitely enjoy this new version even more. He added that they’re simply pushing it to the next level, and everyone involved is thrilled to be together. If you’re a fan of Marvel’s Daredevil, get ready for something truly exciting!
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be back with a fierce resolve in Daredevil: Born Again. This story unfolds five years after my character, Frank Castle, last appeared on screen in season 2. The groundbreaking Netflix series, which premiered in 2015 and marked the entry of the street-level Marvel universe, has paved the way for the broader Marvel television universe. At a recent convention, we unveiled the first gripping footage from this upcoming series, giving us all a tantalizing glimpse into what’s to come.
The show introduces a fresh perspective on the new villain Muse, the vigilante White Tiger, and a more intense, TV-MA rated Echo. As for Daredevil: Born Again, it maintains the spirit of the original series while carving out a unique journey for Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, as stated by Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios. This new chapter features Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin, three years after the end of season 3 in 2018, hinting at a David vs. Goliath narrative between these two characters. The plot focuses on mysterious disappearances and the indifference of law enforcement agencies.
The Disney+ series, a continuation rather than a remake of the Daredevil series from Netflix that ran from 2015 to 2018, will bring back characters like Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). Additionally, newcomers joining the cast include Ayelet Zurer (known for Man of Steel), Margarita Levieva (from Star Wars: The Acolyte), and Michael Gandolfini (featured in The Many Saints of Newark).
Brad Winderbaum, who serves as the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, will be collaborating with Feige on the production of the series. In a recent episode of the Official Marvel Podcast, Winderbaum shared that Daredevil is remarkable and shares some similarities with X-Men ’97, as it brings back beloved characters but presents them in a fresh light. Over time, these characters have grown and adapted. The world they inhabit has evolved, reflecting changes in society. According to Winderbaum, the dynamics between Wilson and Matt will lead to conflicts never before seen. He explained that their confrontations will no longer be limited to attempts on each other’s lives, as a complex web of politics now plays a significant role.
The Marvel Studios’ revival of Daredevil, titled “Daredevil: Born Again,” is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in March 2025. This new series serves as a continuation of the Netflix Daredevil saga and will be split into two nine-episode sections.
When the mastermind forces Murdock’s ex-lover, a drug addict, to disclose his hidden identity as Daredevil, Murdock’s life and career meet their demise.
