As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “When Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga) declares ‘It’s what the people want!’ in the trailer, she encapsulates the wild ride we’re about to take together. And boy, do these partners in crime deliver! Their off-the-wall antics have struck a chord with audiences, inspiring them to show their support with cheers, banners, and posters.”
In the beginning of the trailer, Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix) is en route to his trial for the chilling murder of Murray Franklin in 2019’s Joker. As he travels, fans dressed as the Joker excite him with their cheers and masks. Later, during his time in prison, Arthur’s insanity intensifies upon encountering Quinn, and similarly, Quinn is affected by Arthur’s instability.
In an unexpected turn of events, I find myself holding a significant role in someone’s life for the first time. You know, the Joker from the trailer? He sings, “For once in my life, I have someone who needs me.” But Quinn replies with a casual comment, “You can do anything you want. You are Joker.” Little did we both know, this was just the beginning of our descent into an all-consuming obsession and madness.

The upcoming movie, serving as a follow-up to the critically acclaimed and Oscar-nominated Joker from 2019 (with Joaquin Phoenix taking home the Best Actor award), is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024. This new production mainly takes place at Arkham Asylum and features an impressive ensemble including Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Harry Lawtey, and reprising her role is Zazie Beetz.
